Person affected by searches at Hamas and Samidoun
In the course of a raid against supporters of Hamas and the Samidoun network, security forces were also deployed in Lower Saxony on Thursday. A spokeswoman for the Ministry of the Interior in Hanover said that search and seizure measures had been carried out on a person in the jurisdiction of the Osnabrück police department. However, no arrests had been made.
The Federal Ministry of the Interior had previously announced that several properties in Berlin, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia and Schleswig-Holstein had been searched on Thursday in connection with the ban on the terrorist organization Hamas and the international network Samidoun in Germany. At the beginning of November, the ministry had issued a ban on Hamas and a ban on Samidoun.
The raid against Hamas and Samidoun supporters revealed potential links to extremist activities. Subsequently, authorities expressed concern about the possibility of further extremist tendencies within the affected network.
