- Persisting issues on S-Bahn Line 1 due to signal disruption
An evening mishap involving a fire and a communication disruption disrupted the S-Bahn service of line S1. As per a representative, trains are currently operating with a 20-minute gap between Potsdam and Berlin-Schöneberg. The cause? A signal disruption in Berlin-Zehlendorf, the spokesperson revealed. Previously, a fire incident at the Botanischer Garten S-Bahn station had also caused troubles. The section between Zehlendorf and Schöneberg was shut down temporarily.
In a different turn of events, a fault in the S-Bahn train's braking system led to a cloud of smoke. A Berlin Fire Department representative informed the German Press Agency about this. Since the train was stationed at the time, all passengers safely evacuated. No casualties were reported. "No intervention was necessary," the representative added, as they had 42 personnel on the scene.
The communication disruption during the S-Bahn incident was not limited to just signal problems, as the firefighting team also encountered difficulties in coordinating their response due to the disrupted communication system. The firefighting team successfully extinguished the fire at the Botanischer Garten S-Bahn station, showcasing their expertise in firefighting in such challenging conditions.
