- Persisting Increase in Forest Fire Threatening Situation - Easing from Friday

The threat of forest fires in Brandenburg is predicted to carry on escalating thanks to recurring drought. On Thursday, peril levels in certain areas are probable to amplify even more. The German Weather Service (DWD) anticipates the utmost danger level in Potsdam and the district of Ostprignitz-Ruppin.

At present, merely the district of Elbe-Elster among the 14 districts has hit the highest caution level 5, based on the State Ministry for the Environment. This indicates a significantly high risk.

The state's forest fire safeguard chief, Raimund Engel, isn't ready to declare all clear. "That hinges on the quantity and patter of rainfall," he said in response to a question. He envisions rainfall to be localized rather than widespread, consequently, the condition isn't likely to lighten up equally.

The drought conditions continue to exacerbate the risk of forest fires, making it difficult for the situation to improve equally across all areas. Insufficient rainfall is anticipated to be concentrated in certain areas, contributing to the persistence of the highest caution level in some districts.
