Weather - Permafrost forecast for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania
Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania will have to brace itself for permafrost on Saturday with temperatures between 0 and minus 4 degrees. According to forecasts by the German Weather Service (DWD), temperatures in the south-east will drop to minus 12 degrees at the start of the day.
According to the information, snow showers may occur on the coast and move inland during the day. Up to 3 centimetres of fresh snow may fall, especially inland near the coast. There is a risk of slippery conditions in some areas and at times.
The clouds and snow showers will continue on Sunday night. The lows will hover between minus 1 and minus 8 degrees. On Sunday itself, temperatures could rise to up to 1 degree. Light snow showers will occur locally.
