Two individuals, located on a rooftop near the Karlsruhe prison, inadvertently triggered a larger police operation. The police received a report of a suspicious sighting on the prison's roof and cordoned off the area, a spokesperson said. A threat was initially not ruled out. Several patrol cars and a police helicopter rushed to the scene.

However, investigations on-site revealed that it was a case of mistaken identity. The two individuals were actually on the nearby rooftop of the City Hall West and were legitimately there.

The police operation, initiated due to the report of a suspicious sighting, involved several patrol cars and a police helicopter. Despite the initial concern, the individuals on the rooftop were later identified as being in the wrong place at the wrong time, at the City Hall West.
