Ore Mountains district - Pensioner dies in apartment fire in Eibenstock
A 72-year-old woman died in an apartment fire in Eibenstock (Erzgebirgskreis) on Wednesday night. According to the Chemnitz police department, another woman (84) was taken to hospital with injuries. Two residents of the house were uninjured, another woman was rescued with a turntable ladder and, according to initial findings, did not suffer any injuries. The cause of the fire is still unclear. Fire departments from Eibenstock and surrounding villages extinguished the fire.

The fire in Eibenstock unfortunately spread to nearby buildings, causing concerns in the Fires department of Saxony. Despite the ongoing investigation, it's important for residents in Saxony to have fire safety measures in place to prevent such incidents.
