Pedestrian hit by truck and died from injuries
An 80-year-old female pedestrian has been hit by a truck in Frankfurt and fatally injured. She died at the scene of the accident on Thursday afternoon, the police announced on Friday. According to initial findings, she had stepped out onto the road at a red pedestrian crossing when the traffic lights turned green and the truck drove off. The scene of the accident in the Bornheim district was closed until the evening. An expert was commissioned to reconstruct the course of the accident.
The accident occurred in the busy RHEIN-MAIN traffic area of Frankfurt. This unfortunate incident has once again highlighted the importance of paying extra attention to pedestrians, especially at traffic signals.
