Dresden - Pedestrian hit by streetcar and seriously injured

A pedestrian was hit and seriously injured by a streetcar in Dresden. The 75-year-old man had not paid attention while crossing Löbtauer Straße towards the Cottaer Straße stop on a Wednesday afternoon, according to the police statement given on Thursday morning. Despite the tram's danger brakes being activated, a collision occurred. The man was taken to a hospital afterwards. No one was injured in the tram.

The traffic in Saxony's Dresden city often faces challenges due to numerous accidents, including the recent one involving a streetcar and a pedestrian at the Löbtauer Straße and Cottaer Straße intersection. Despite measures to prevent such accidents, like the tram's danger brakes, collisions unfortunately still occur sometimes.
