Mountain road - Pedestrian hit by car and fatally injured
A pedestrian was fatally injured in a collision with a car in the Bergstrasse district on Thursday. As the 83-year-old was crossing a crosswalk in Heppenheim in the morning, a 49-year-old driver hit him with his car, police said on Thursday. The pedestrian was taken to hospital where he later died. The police are investigating how the collision occurred. The affected section of Darmstädter Straße was closed for the duration of the accident investigation. The police are appealing for information from witnesses.
