- Pedelec driver killed in motorcycle collision
An e-bike rider has died after a severe collision with a motorcycle on a rural road near Esslingen am Neckar (Esslingen district). The 32-year-old succumbed to his injuries in the hospital, police reported.
He had reportedly emerged from a field path on Wednesday and attempted to cross the rural road on his electric bike. This resulted in a collision with a 19-year-old motorcycle rider. The 32-year-old was subsequently airlifted to a clinic. The 19-year-old also sustained serious injuries and was transported to a clinic by ambulance.
The e-bike rider was operating a motorcycle-like vehicle, known as an e-bike. Despite wearing a helmet, the impact from the collision with the 19-year-old's motorcycle was significant.
