Patriots failures "okay after 20 years"
Record-breaking champions the New England Patriots have opened the "Patriots Haus" in the city ahead of their football game in Frankfurt and will be welcoming fans until the weekend. On Thursday, two German ex-professionals, Sebastian Vollmer and Markus Kuhn, spoke about the NFL club, which has won a total of six Super Bowl titles since 2001. "This is the most successful club of all time, there's no getting around it. There are six trophies. It's true that things aren't going so well this year. That's okay after 20 years. I'm sure we'll get back on track," said Vollmer.
The club will play against the Indianapolis Colts at Frankfurt Football Stadium on Sunday (3.30 pm/RTL and DAZN). After the premiere in Munich 2022 and the clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Miami Dolphins the previous week, it is the third NFL game of the season to be played in Germany. The Patriots are regarded as the club with the biggest fan base in this country.
"The characters have contributed a lot to winning when you talk about Tom Brady and Co. This is the most successful franchise of the last 20 years. You want to associate yourself with the best, it's only logical," Vollmer said. Around 1000 fans were announced to visit the Patriots house in a hotel in downtown Frankfurt on Thursday. The six Vince Lombardi Trophies, which are awarded to the Super Bowl winner, are also on display there. According to the club, this is the first time the trophies have left US soil.
The New England Patriots, famous for their six Super Bowl victories in the NFL, will face off against the Indianapolis Colts in American Football at Frankfurt Football Stadium. Despite facing challenges this year, ex-player Sebastian Vollmer remains optimistic, acknowledging the team's impressive history in Frankfurt, where they've attracted a substantial fan base.
