Patrick Dempsey is "Sexiest Man Alive"
American actor Patrick Dempsey ("Grey's Anatomy") is the "Sexiest Man Alive" of 2023 for the US magazine "People". As the 57-year-old explained to the magazine, he does not want to have to relinquish the annual title as the man with the greatest sex appeal in the world to a successor next year: "I honestly don't know why there has to be anyone else after me," he said.
Dempsey explained that he wanted to use the attention surrounding his new title to talk about issues that are important to him. "And of course my ego gets a little boost." Within the family, however, the actor, who has three children with Jillian Fink, is apparently not considered the undisputed king. His children would only make fun of him and give every reason why he shouldn't be, said the 57-year-old. Dempsey is best known for his role as Dr. Derek Shepherd in the television series "Grey's Anatomy".
People magazine has been awarding the title annually since 1985, with the first winner being actor Mel Gibson. Before Dempsey, his fellow actors Chris Evans ("Captain America: The First Avenger"), Paul Rudd ("Ant-Man") and Michael B. Jordan ("Black Panther") were honored as "Sexiest Man Alive".
