After general overhaul - Paternoster in Leipzig City Hall is running again

After one and a half years of renovation, the Paternoster in the New Town Hall in Leipzig is turning its rounds again. The technical monument was reportedly renovated for around 900,000 Euros by the city.

The elevator system dates back to the year 1986 and connects from the cellar to the fourth floor, a total of six floors. The Paternoster is one of the last ones still in operation in Saxony. However, it can only be used by trained employees and administrators of the city administration.

The Paternoster's revival has brought new life to the New Town Hall in Leipzig, located in the heart of Saxony. Despite being restricted to use by municipal employees, the colorful history of this historic elevator system continues to attract interest from the region's municipalities.
