Paulina Paszek and Jule Hake won the bronze medal in the women's kayak double 500 meters event at the Paris Olympics. The duo had to wait after finishing the race at the Nautical Stadium in Vaires-sur-Marne before they could celebrate, as two bronze medals were awarded. They finished tied with the German team, which included the Hungarian duo of Noemi Pupp and Sara Fojt, in front of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

Gold went to the New Zealand pair of Lisa Carrington and Alicia Hoskin, while the Hungarian duo of Tamara Csipes and Alida Dora Gazso took silver. The other German duo of Lena Röhlings and Pauline Jagsch finished in sixth place.

Germany's last Olympic gold in this event was in 2012, when Franziska Weber and Tina Dietze won. They also took bronze in Rio in 2016.

Paulina Paszek and Jule Hake were thrilled to earn the bronze medal, their first Olympic medal as a team. Despite the tie, they felt proud to share the podium with the German team in Paris.
