An elderly passenger passed away in a car crash in Unterfranken's Main-Spessart region. The 80-year-old driver lost control of their vehicle on the B26 federal road and crashed into a tree on Forst Lohrerstraße, an unincorporated area, during the hours between Sunday night and Monday morning. The driver and the passenger were both critically injured; unfortunately, the 74-year-old passenger later succumbed to their wounds in the hospital. The reasons for the accident are still unknown. Authorities have summoned a specialist to investigate the incident.
