In evasion from the police, the passenger in the car dies, now the car driver stands before the court. A spokesperson for the Westerstede District Court stated that the 23-year-old is charged with, among other things, deadly car racing. The trial begins at 9:00 AM. In this trial, it also goes about theft, fraud, endangering road traffic, and hit-and-run.

At the end of September 2023, the accused and his accomplice are said to have broken into a company in Apen (Ammerland district) through a window and stolen a car. Later that night, they are said to have driven to Oldenburg without paying for gas. The police pursued the car. The driver is said to have driven at times over 200 kilometers per hour, crashed into a ditch, and rammed a police car.

To finally elude control, the defendant is said to have driven away from the accident scene at speeds of up to 160 kilometers per hour. In a curve, he lost control of the car, left the road, and collided with a tree. The passenger did not survive the accident. However, the driver attempted to flee - ultimately without success. At the end of October, the defendant is said to have broken into another company. There, he is said to have taken keys, tools, and beer kegs worth approximately 12,200 Euro. Under the influence of alcohol and drugs, he left the company premises with a stolen truck. Later that night, he is said to have crashed the truck. To free the vehicle, he is said to have stolen an excavator. The attempt was unsuccessful, causing damages of 2,500 Euro.

Additionally, the prosecution accuses the defendant of two burglaries in Bad Zwischenahn in mid-February.

The car racing incident leading to the passenger's death occurred in Lower Saxony, specifically in the district of Ammerland near Westerstede. During the police pursuit, the defendant's driving behavior was reportedly reckless, involving high speeds and endangering road traffic. The local court in Westerstede is currently handling multiple charges against the 23-year-old, including deadly car racing, theft, fraud, and hit-and-run.
