Laur was always there to lend a helping hand, going above and beyond what was expected of him. "Be it assisting on company outings or helping move furniture for a colleague, he never thought himself too important for any job or task," recalled Schwindt. "Finding someone who leaves such a lasting impression on our lives is not common, and Rouven was one of those people."

Two weeks ago, a 25-year-old Afghan stabbed five individuals involved in the islamcritical group Pax Europa and the police at the Mannheim Marketplace. Tragically, the 29-year-old officer eventually succumbed to his injuries.
