UEFA - Paris? Porto? Bayern looks ahead to the Champions League draw
Who will FC Bayern face in the last 16 of the Champions League? This question will be answered today at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. There are six possible opponents for coach Thomas Tuchel's team in the first knockout round, including three from Italy. The German soccer champions could be drawn against Italian champions SSC Napoli, last season's finalists Inter Milan or Lazio Roma. A clash with Paris Saint-Germain and star striker Kylian Mbappé, FC Porto or PSV Eindhoven is also possible.
German duels with RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund are not possible in the round of 16. Neither will a clash with group opponents FC Copenhagen.
The round of 16 will be played in the new year. The first legs will take place on February 13/14/20/21, the second legs on March 5/6/12/13. As top of the group, Bayern, whose big goal is the final at Wembley Stadium in London on June 1, will first play away from home.
