Parcels mixed up: Senior receives drugs instead of kitchen utensils
A 74-year-old man from the western Lake Constance district has received a package containing several grams of marijuana and hashish instead of a kitchen appliance he ordered. The two packages were presumably mixed up during shipping, the police announced on Friday.
The man had reportedly ordered the appliance on the Internet. When he received the package containing drugs at the beginning of the week, he reported the incident to the police. Where exactly the incident took place and which kitchen appliance was involved, a spokesperson did not want to disclose "for tactical investigative reasons". According to the police, it was not known who was supposed to receive the drugs and whether the actual recipient had received a new kitchen appliance.
The mix-up in the shipping led to unexpected curiosities for the elderly man, as he received drugs instead of his ordered kitchen utensils. Despite the confusion, investigations are ongoing to determine if the intended drug recipient received a substitute kitchen item.
