Conflagration in Gaza - Palestine support rally held at Humboldt University
Lately, there have been a series of takeovers of university rooms by students who aimed to protest against Israel and the war in Gaza. Often, the terrorist act by Hamas and the massacre of Israelis were not brought up.
To deny access to a university, there's currently just the option of a temporary house ban in Berlin. However, in the near future, universities will have the ability to permanently kick out students for significant offenses. An amendment to the Higher Education Act to support this change was passed by the black-red Senate near the end of March. This idea came about after an incident where a fellow student assaulted a Jewish student at the Free University back in the beginning of February. It is currently being talked about in the House of Representatives.
