Process - Paint on DFB headquarters: climate activists in court

Three suspected sympathizers of the climate protection group Letzte Generation (Last Generation) are on trial today (2.30 p.m.) at Frankfurt District Court for damage to property. The prosecution accuses the environmental activists, aged 39 to 42, of smearing the building of the headquarters of the German Football Association (DFB) in Frankfurt's Niederrad district with black oil paint in November last year. Photos of the smearing then circulated on the internet.

According to the indictment, the action was intended to protest against the hosting of the World Cup in Qatar. The damage amounted to just under 1500 euros. The court has scheduled one trial day for the time being.
