Paderborn struggled to hold onto their advantage in the 2. Federal League, ending up in a 0-0 tie with newly promoted side SSV Ulm. Led by coach Lukas Kwasniok, Paderborn slumped down to the fifth spot. On the other hand, Ulm managed to bag their initial point of the season under the guidance of Thomas Wörle.
