Paderborn extends contract with Kwasniok ahead of schedule
Second-division soccer club SC Paderborn has extended the contract with coach Lukas Kwasniok ahead of schedule. The club announced this on Wednesday, but did not specify the new contract term. Kwasniok was initially signed for two years in 2021 and then extended his contract in September 2022 until June 30, 2025. The collaboration has now been extended by at least another year. The 42-year-old has led the team to seventh and sixth place in the past two seasons and has reached the last 16 of the DFB Cup twice so far.
"Lukas has proven over a long period of time in Paderborn that he and the coaching team can bring players up to a higher level and also develop and improve young talents from our own youth ranks. The consistency in this important position is also a strong signal to our players," said Managing Director Sport Benjamin Weber.
SC Paderborn's successful run in Bundesliga 2 under coach Lukas Kwasniok has earned them recognition, as they've secured a contract extension for him before its original end. Kwasniok, who has led the team to promising positions and impressive cup performances, will continue his tenure with SC Paderborn in Bundesliga 2.
