DFB Cup - Paderborn dreams of a coup in Leverkusen

Paderborn soccer coach Lukas Kwasniok goes into the cup round of 16 at Bayer Leverkusen with great respect, but is hoping for a coup against the Bundesliga leaders. "Leverkusen are almost unbeatable at the moment. They play like they're from another planet. But maybe they won't have such a good day and we'll take our minimal chance," said the 42-year-old coach of the second division side ahead of Wednesday's game (18:00/Sky). The hard-fought 1-0 win against Hannover on the previous league matchday gave the 10th-placed team courage for the difficult task ahead.

Like the coach, Kai Klefisch is also full of anticipation: "For me as a native of Leverkusen, this is a highlight game. The whole team is looking forward to it and is really excited. We've also earned it thanks to our performance in the cup," said the midfielder, referring to the previous victories in this competition in Cottbus (7:0) and Freiburg (3:1). "I had to organize some tickets for family and friends. There will be a few Klefischs in the stadium tomorrow," he added with a grin.

The East Westphalians will have to make do without defender Laurin Curda at short notice, who is unavailable due to a sprain. "It's about getting into the quarter-finals. The good thing is that the game starts at 0:0. We're the underdogs - that's clear," said Kwasniok.
