Turkish soccer player Salih Özcan from Borussia Dortmund is excited about the energetic vibe at the European Championships for his country's team. Özcan commented to the German Press Agency, "Turkey will feel like they're playing at home during the EM."

Reflecting on Turkey's victory over Germany with a score of 3-2 last year, the 26-year-old stated, "The match in Berlin last November showed us what might occur." Many thousands of Turkish supporters were in the stands, making it a bit of a taste of what's to come, he says.

Born in Cologne, Özcan has been a member of the Turkish squad since 2022. Prior to that, he progressed through the German Football Association's (DFB) youth development system. With the German U21, he earned the title of European champion in 2021. Özcan will compete in Group F against Georgia (June 18th in Dortmund), Portugal (June 22nd in Dortmund), and the Czech Republic (June 26th in Hamburg) at the EM.
