Transition to a new location or situation - Over two thousand people became citizens last year.

Asians were the majority of people who were granted citizenship, numbering approximately 79% (or 1653 individuals). Syrians formed the biggest group in this category. The number of Syrian refugees fulfilling the criteria for naturalization increased significantly during the years 2014 to 2016, as per data from the Statistical Office. Additionally, 112 individuals from Ukraine became citizens.
