In the heart of Uelzen, a single-family home's top floor went up in flames on a Sunday evening. The residents were awakened by a loud explosion and noticed flames shooting out of a room, as per the police's statement. One resident ended up with a mild instance of smoke inhalation during their attempt to salvage some belongings. Approximately 80 firefighters were required to put out the inferno. The estimated damage surpassed 100,000 euros. The police haven't ruled out the possibility of a technical glitch or careless arson as the cause of the fire.
The intense flames from the fire engulfed the entire upper floor of the house. Thankfully, the fire department managed to extinguish the fire before it spread to the lower floors.
