Over 3000 visitors at Thuringian Book Days
With over 3,000 visitors, the Thuringian Book Days were able to build on the number of guests from previous years. "All the readings and publishers' stands were well attended by very interested visitors who were keen to buy," said organizer Heike Haupt at the end of the event on Saturday. Last year, around 3,000 people also attended the event, and the numbers were similar before the coronavirus pandemic.
27 Thuringian publishing houses presented themselves at the fair in Erfurt's Steigerwald Stadium. There were also seven authors on site, as well as several from the Thuringian Writers' Association and the Thuringian Agency for Creative Industries. The organizing state association of the German Publishers and Booksellers Association for Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia estimates that there are around 90 publishing houses in Thuringia.
The Thuringian Book Days featured a variety of literature from local publishing houses, attracting the interest of many visitors. The annual literature fairs in Erfurt showcase the work of numerous authors and organizations, including the Thuringian Writers' Association and the Thuringian Agency for Creative Industries.
