Heavy downpour - Over 30 degrees and local storms expected in Bavaria

Temperatures in Bavaria are set to rise again above 30 degrees. However, localized severe weather with heavy rain is also expected, according to the German Weather Service (DWD). There is also a possibility of hail in isolated areas.

On Tuesday morning, the sun will initially shine, before thunderstorms move in around midday. High temperatures will range between 30 and 34 degrees. In the higher alpine regions, they will be around 28 degrees.

Wednesday will also start sunny, but the risk of severe weather will remain high. In the afternoon and evening, there will be more heavy thunderstorms. Temperatures will remain high, with highs between 27 degrees in the Alps and 33 degrees from the Danube onwards.

On Tuesday, despite being predicted in Bavaria's higher alpine regions, the scorching temperatures of around 28 degrees will contrast with the expected heavy rain and potential hail in other areas. Following this unpredictable weather pattern, Bavaria is anticipated to experience more heavy thunderstorms on Wednesday, maintaining the high temperatures.
