Inquiries into possible wrongdoings - Over 250,000 euros worth of losses incurred from fuel pump scams.

Two suspects, aged 50 and 51, were nabbed by police in Lohfelden (Kassel district) for allegedly stealing card data from fuel pumps across the nation. The alleged crime has caused estimates of damage to exceed 250,000 euros, as shared by police and prosecutors on Thursday. The men are believed to have tampered with the machines to extract information from payment and fuel cards. Subsequently, they supposedly used this data to create counterfeit cards for refueling and transactions in Germany and neighboring countries.

Prior to their arrest on the previous Wednesday, the unidentified culprits had drawn the attention of fraud investigators in North Rhine-Westphalia, according to reports. During an attempt to disassemble their scamming gadgets at a fuel station in Lohfelden, the two men were apprehended. Currently, they are being held in custody. The police inquiry into "skimming" fraud cases in other parts of Germany continues.
