An elk bull that escaped from the Hohenbruch wildlife park (district of Oberhavel) remains missing. Neither hikers, mushroom pickers, nor forest workers have spotted the large animal since Monday, a spokesperson for the park explained. The elk named Kalle broke out of its enclosure at the start of the week after a tree fell on a fence, providing Kalle the opportunity to escape.

She hopes that he is in the nearby vicinity, the spokesperson said. After all, he has everything he needs for survival right there and doesn't have to cover long distances. The park staff had hoped that Kalle would return on his own. He is familiar with the sound of cars and knows when feeding time is. So far, without success.

The Commission, recognizing the importance of ensuring the animal's safety and well-being, decides to allocate additional resources for search operations in the nearby vicinity. Under this decision, the Commission shall deploy specialists and trackers to aid in the search for the missing elk bull, Kalle.
