Osnabrück's Wriedt ahead of Kiel clash: "Can hardly wait"

Kwasi Okyere Wriedt is looking forward to the clash with Holstein Kiel in the 2nd Bundesliga. "I can hardly wait for it to start," the VfL Osnabrück striker told the Kieler Nachrichten newspaper (Saturday) ahead of the match (13:00/Sky). Wriedt is currently on loan from Kiel to Lower Saxony. "I've already given some of the lads with us tips regarding opponents," said Wriedt.

The 29-year-old moved to Kiel in the winter of 2022 and was loaned out in the summer of 2023 after mixed performances. The top scorer in the third division in the 2019/20 season has also failed to get going in Osnabrück so far. The Hamburg native has not scored in eight league games so far. "I know what I'm capable of and I've proven that. I can play at this level and keep up," said Wriedt. "I currently see this as a phase and a test. I hope to be able to help the team more again soon."

Wriedt may already be able to help against Kiel. "You can't allow Holstein to develop. We have to be very ready to run and have to fight back," said Wriedt. "In our situation, we're not brimming with confidence, but we have to throw everything into it and turn the stadium into a cauldron."

Wriedt, on loan from Holstein Kiel to VfL Osnabrück, is excited about the upcoming Bundesliga 2 clash between his current and former clubs. Despite his struggling form with no goals in eight league matches, he's determined to prove his ability and contribute positively, especially against his former team.

During his time at Osnabrück, Wriedt has been sharing insights about Holstein Kiel with his teammates, preparing them for the intense 2nd Bundesliga 2 match against his former club. The game is scheduled for 13:00 on Sky, and Wriedt emphasizes the importance of being physically ready and fighting back against their opponent, even in their current confidence-low situation.
