Increase in visitors and overnight stays - Rhineland-Palatinate's tourism bounces back from coronavirus during the first quarter of 2024. A specific area has reached the previous pre-pandemic level.

Accommodation business or sector - Optimistic beginning to 2023 for tourism in Rhineland-Palatinate.

The tourism industry in Rhineland-Palatinate saw a significant surge in guests during the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. The number of overnight stays not only surpassed the pre-pandemic levels of 2019 but also reached a total of 3.5 million, as reported by the Statistical Office in Bad Ems. This marks a 13% increase from the previous year.

Furthermore, the number of male and female visitors also grew by 10% to 1.3 million from the previous year's first quarter.

All tourism regions in Rhineland-Palatinate either surpassed or held steady with the number of visitors and overnight stays in the first three months of last year. According to these figures, the Palatinate region was the most visited, with approximately 342,000 female and male guests between January and March, 2024.
