Architecture - Operators of the St. Pauli elevated bunker present their concept
The greening and construction of the gray high-rise bunker on Hamburg's Heiligengeistfeld is progressing - today (10.00 a.m.) the operators want to present their concept for the interior of the bunker. The 38-meter-high anti-aircraft bunker will be raised by five additional floors. The "Reverb by Hard Rock Hotel" (134 rooms), restaurants and a sports and concert hall are to be built there. There will also be space for a memorial and information center dedicated to the history of the bunker.
In addition, a path completely overgrown with trees and shrubs will lead from below around the outer walls of the bunker up to the roof - the so-called mountain path. Once at the top, a public urban garden awaits visitors. It is expected to cost around 60 million euros to raise and green the colossus.

The transformation of the St. Pauli bunker not only includes architecture but also environmental considerations, with plans for a tree-lined path leading visitors to an urban garden on top. The history of the bunker will be preserved and showcased within the new design, making it a significant attraction for history enthusiasts in tourism. Hamburg's gastronomy scene might also benefit from the new restaurants that are part of the redevelopment project.
