Only Kane scores when chances are at a premium: Bayern first again
And again and again Harry Kane: Despite unusually short preparation and careless exploitation of chances, Bayern Munich also won at their new favorite opponents 1. Sané, who was once again very conspicuous despite his poor chance-taking, missed narrowly again (27'). Although Neuer also had to save a treacherous header from Rasmus Carstensen (31'), Bayern should have been well ahead at the break.
After the changeover, however, Cologne were more compact and Bayern, despite having more and more possession, hardly found any gaps and did not create any good opportunities for a long time. In the 78th minute, Kingsley Coman had a great chance to put the game beyond doubt, but his header hit the crossbar.
Three minutes later, the Frenchman missed the ball from a promising position. Coach Tuchel was not pleased with the unnecessary nail-biter, but in the end his team managed to hold on to their narrow lead.
Despite their recent struggles with chances and international trips, 1st FC Cologne's Bundesliga rivals, FC Bayern Munich, secured a tight 1-0 victory against them with Harry Kane scoring the only goal. This victory helped Bayern regain their lead in the Bundesliga table, having already won eleven championship titles in a row. In contrast, Cologne slipped to last place temporarily after the match.
In the Bundesliga, despite Bayern Munich's commanding lead, 1st FC Cologne's local rivals, 1st FC Cologne, are faced with a tough challenge as they look to improve their position in the table. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich will continue to rely on their star striker, Harry Kane, who has already scored 18 goals in the Bundesliga this season.
