Only a few demonstrations in Brandenburg

According to the state government, the number of demonstrations related to the Middle East conflict in Brandenburg is manageable. In a nationwide comparison, it is at a "quantitatively low level", said Social Affairs Minister Ursula Nonnemacher (Greens) in the Brandenburg state parliament on Wednesday.

The number of pro-Israeli events was higher than the number of pro-Palestinian events, Nonnemacher explained. The State Office of Criminal Investigation had registered a total of 14 events in this context up to the beginning of November, of which 8 were pro-Israeli and 4 pro-Palestinian events. According to Nonnemacher, the LKA classified four of the gatherings as neutral. "All of the gatherings went off without a hitch."

In the context of the Middle East conflict, the state government mentioned that the number of demonstrations in Brandenburg is low in comparison to other parts of the country, discussing this matter in the Brandenburg state parliament. Despite this, there have been conflicts reported between pro-Israeli and pro-Palestinian demonstrations in the region, as mentioned by Social Affairs Minister Ursula Nonnemacher.
