Due to the vigilance of an onlooker, a significant fire in Scharbeutz, Kreis Ostholstein, was averted. This 55-year-old individual spotted flames igniting part of a thatched roof on a beachfront restaurant along the promenade of the Baltic seaside resort, as reported by the police during the night hours. Joined by two assistants from an adjacent establishment, he valiantly attempted to suppress the fire using a fire extinguisher. Upon their arrival, firefighters successfully put an end to the inferno.

According to authorities, the man escaped unscathed. The preliminary damage assessments were yet to be disclosed. However, the criminal investigation division held suspicions of arson and sought eyewitnesses.

The large fire nearly engulfed the entire beachfront restaurant, but the quick actions of the onlooker and his assistants managed to contain it to some extent. Thankfully, the large fire was extinguished before it could cause significant damage, as reported by the authorities.
