Following a two-week stint, demolition operations at the Kröv hotel on the Mosel are still ongoing. The final standing concrete ceiling segment is being partitioned and gradually eliminated, according to a Trier police spokesperson. They couldn't provide an exact timespan for how long this on-site action, including crane usage, would persist, though it's expected to conclude by week's end at the earliest. The demolition process has shown to be quite a drawn-out ordeal.

The tragic incident of a complete hotel floor collapsing date back to August 6th evening. Regrettably, two lives were lost - a 64-year-old woman and the 59-year-old hotel proprietor. Seven additional individuals endured being trapped in the debris for considerable hours. Approximately 250 emergency services personnel engaged in a 24-hour rescue effort.

A specialist has been assigned by Trier's public prosecutor's office to ascertain the collapse's underlying cause. As of now, no grounds have been unearthed to explain the incident.
