- One person injured in multi-family house fire
A fire has partially destroyed the roof of a multi-family residential building in Ubstadt-Weiher (Karlsruhe district). A resident suffered moderate injuries, according to the fire department, and was hospitalized with burns and a smoke inhalation injury. No information has been provided yet on the cause or the extent of the damage.
The firefighters rescued one person from the apartment affected by the fire. The other residents had already evacuated safely. In total, 18 people were evacuated from the multi-family house.
A total of 100 firefighters were on the scene. Several teams equipped with breathing apparatuses fought the fire in the multi-family house. Structural engineers were called to the scene to assess the stability of the top floor. The house is currently uninhabitable.
