One dead in house fire in Trossingen

A man has died in a fire in a first floor apartment in Trossingen (Tuttlingen district). As the police announced on Monday, the deceased could be the 63-year-old owner of the apartment.

District of Tuttlingen - One dead in house fire in Trossingen

A man has died in a fire in a first floor apartment in Trossingen (Tuttlingen district). As the police announced on Monday, the deceased could be the 63-year-old owner of the apartment.

The fire broke out on Saturday afternoon. Witnesses had called the emergency services and reported hearing a bang and then seeing smoke. Part of the wall of the building was also missing.

When the fire department arrived, the first floor apartment was ablaze. The body was then discovered. The building suffered considerable fire damage. The amount of damage was not yet known. At least the first floor apartment and another apartment in the house are no longer habitable.

A member of the emergency services sustained a cut during the operation and required medical treatment. The identification of the body is still ongoing.
