Accidents - One dead and three injured in highway accident
At a serious car accident on the A71 autobahn in Northern Thüringen, a woman has passed away. Three other passengers in the car, which was on its way to Sangerhausen, have been injured, said a police spokesperson in response to an inquiry. The accident occurred on Sunday afternoon between the interchanges Heldrungen and Artern.
Regarding the identity of the deceased and the passengers, no statements could be made yet. "The injured are not in a life-threatening condition," said the police spokesperson. The cause of the accident is still unknown. The car had skidded and overturned. The Autobahn towards Sangerhausen had to be closed at the accident site for several hours for cleanup work.
