Table tennis - Olympic ticket for Xiaona and Mittelham

The table tennis players of TTC Berlin Eastside aim to secure their tenth national title since 2014. The opponent is once again TTC 1946 Weinheim. In the re-match of the final, the Baden-Württemberg girls will first face the title holder on a Friday (6:00 pm). The return match will take place two days later in the Berlin Paul-Heyse-Strasse (1:00 pm).

In the Bundesliga main round, both finalists won in each other's hall. Weinheim won 6:4 in Berlin, Eastside won 6:1 in Weinheim. Conclusions for the finals are hardly possible from this, as both title contenders did not field their best lineups. Eastside will field Xiaona Shan, who was previously absent, and Jung-Star Josi Neumann in the final matches.

If Eastside wins the title, it would not only be their tenth championship since 2014 for the club, but also the tenth double of championship and cup. In 2018, DJK Kolbermoor won the championship, a year later the cup.

For Xiaona Shan and Nina Mittelham, the season is not yet over after the championship final. The two top players from Berlin were nominated for the Olympics in Paris. While the 41-year-old senior participates for the third time since 2016, having won the silver medal at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, Mittelham is making her Olympic debut. She was an alternate player in Japan three years ago.
