Athletics - Olympic champion Mihambo competes twice at the Istaf Indoor
Olympic long jump champion Malaika Mihambo has confirmed her participation in the two Istaf indoor events next February. The two-time world champion will first jump on February 4 - one day after her 30th birthday - in the PSD Bank Dome in Düsseldorf and on February 23 in the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, as the organizers announced on Friday. "The Istaf Indoor cannot be compared to any other meeting, the atmosphere is unique. With the support of the fans, Düsseldorf and Berlin will once again be real indoor highlights," said Mihambo.
In Düsseldorf, the three-time Sportswoman of the Year will compete against, among others, European Indoor Champion Jasmin Sawyers from Great Britain and Ukraine's Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk, runner-up at the World Championships and European Champion in Munich 2022. In Berlin, Mihambo will face, among others, Italy's Larissa Iapichino, runner-up at the 2023 European Indoor Championships.
