Donation transportation - "OHZ hilft" distributes Christmas bags to children in Ukraine
Christmas bags for children in Ukraine: The "OHZ hilft" association from Osterholz-Scharmbeck organized a donation transport to the Ukrainian city of Pervomaisk. There, employees distributed Christmas presents to children in orphanages. "I have always noticed the suffering of the children during my visits to Ukraine," said Peter Göbel, initiator and chairman of the association, on Tuesday. That's why he organized a very special campaign just for children. "It all worked out well," explained Göbel. Most of the donations came from private individuals in the district.
The donation transport started in Lower Saxony on December 14 and will return on December 21. This is the eighth time this year that aid has been delivered from the town in Lower Saxony to Ukraine, as Göbel reported. The initiator came across the town of Pervomaisk, which has around 14,500 inhabitants, via an earlier donation shipment.
Since March 2022, the association has been organizing aid transports to the war zone in Ukraine and providing people there with food, baby food, medicine and warm clothing. It also supports refugees in the district with accommodation and equipment.
