Radical ideologies - Officials urge staff members to participate in a moment of reflection.

"A terrible action that frequently exposes police officers and policewomen to great danger is right in front of us," states a letter from Baden-Württemberg's Minister President, Winfried Kretschmann, and Deputy Minister President and Interior Minister, Thomas Strobl. "The police community is mourning one of their own. We all mourn an officer who has represented our state, our community, and our liberal democratic fundamental order."

At an event taking place at Mannheim's market square at 11:34 am, Bundestag President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Strobl will attend. Steinmeier will place a floral wreath prior to the ceremony.
