Unlawful Act or Deed - Officers come across a man suffering from a gunshot injury on the street.
The wee hours of Monday night saw a 46-year-old man from Viersen hospitalized following an assault. As per police reports, they received an emergency call early in the morning, and upon arrival, discovered the man suffering from a leg wound on the street. Fortunately, his life was not in danger, and he was rushed to a medical facility for treatment.
Witnesses reported seeing a white off-road vehicle (an SUV) with the now-outdated KK license plates fleeing the scene. KK stands for the now-dissolved district of Kempen-Krefeld, whose older license plates have returned to use recently. A thorough search effort, including a helicopter, ensued immediately.
The motive behind the attack remained a mystery initially. Authorities scheduled an interrogation with the man at the hospital at a later time.
