A firm from Aschersleben, in the Salzland district, has been commended by the Ministry of Environment for repurposing aged wind turbine rotor blades. Novo-Tech set up a facility during 2021-2023, capable of extracting artificial resins, or Kunstharze, from the rotor blades, as announced by the Ministry of Environment.

This enterprise manufactures various products such as terrace decking, fences, and facades using a unique material they've developed. Novo-Tech sources leftover wood from local joinery and carpentry businesses, alongside plastic granules and recycled Kunstharz.

The Ministry of Environment presents the prestigious Aura Award to praise small to medium-sized companies that prioritize sustainability.

Novo-Tech's commendation by the Ministry of Environment for repurposing wind turbine rotor blades is a significant step towards promoting a circular economy. With the materials they source, Novo-Tech is contributing to the circular economy by transforming leftover wood, plastic granules, and recycled Kunstharz into innovative products.
