Hessian authorities have seized over 18 million Euros from illegal activities in 2023, subsequently depositing it back into the government's coffers. This revelation was made by Hessian Justice Minister Christian Heinz (CDU), drawing upon data from the Asset Recovery Unit at the General Prosecutor's Office in Frankfurt.

Heinz stated, "This amount is over three times greater compared to last year." In 2022, only 6.1 million Euros were seized. "The numbers themselves speak volumes about how efficiently our country's prosecution services are operating." Heinz further emphasized, "Confiscating ill-gotten gains is an integral part of successful criminal investigations."

The seized funds highlight a significant increase in illegal activities within the region, with Crime being a major concern. The confiscated proceeds and subsequent 18 million Euros deposit indicate the seriousness Hessian authorities are showing in combating such activities.
