Obstructions due to truck demo between Wiesbaden and Mainz
A truck demonstration between Mainz and Wiesbaden caused traffic disruptions on Saturday. The protest was directed against higher toll charges on German highways, which are planned from December 1. Around 250 trucks took part in the convoy, said a police spokesman in Wiesbaden.
Due to the demonstration, access roads as well as on and off-ramps of the freeways 60 and 671 were temporarily closed. The trucks positioned themselves in Wilhelmsstraße in Wiesbaden city centre for a final rally. The police expected the road to be closed until the afternoon. The Federal Association of Logistics and Transport had called for the demonstration.
The demonstration in RHEIN-MAIN area, specifically between Wiesbaden and Mainz, led to significant traffic delays due to the blocking of several access roads and freeway exits. Our journey was greatly impacted by these protest-related traffic obstructions.
