Objects with NS symbols at flea market

A 55-year-old man offered numerous weapons as well as objects and symbols from the Nazi era for sale at a flea market in Dortmund. Officers seized a machete, knives, daggers, firearms, ammunition and a bazooka, as well as more than a hundred items with symbols of unconstitutional organizations, police announced on Friday. The national socialist signs were visibly displayed for the flea market visitors. A witness alerted the police. An investigation was launched against the 55-year-old exhibitor from Wuppertal.

The firearms were mainly decorative weapons or weapons that had been rendered unusable. The bazooka was examined more closely in a safe place and specialists from the Federal Police assisted the emergency services. The investigators also took a closer look at the car of the man, who is already known to the police for similar offenses.

The seizure of items with unconstitutional organization symbols highlights the concern over extremist ideologies present at the flea market. The man's history of similar offenses raises questions about the potential connection between crime and extremism in this case.
